J. Michael Struna J. Michael Struna is the Owner and Broker of Advantage Realty Inc., headquarters in Danbury, Connecticut. He is also licensed in New York and Florida and serves as Owner and Broker of Advantage Realty of Florida LLC. With decades of experience across commercial real estate, aviation, and community leadership, Mike brings a disciplined, deal-oriented, and client-focused approach to every assignment. Professional Background Mike was born and raised in Ely, Minnesota. He attended Vermillion Junior College before completing his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Education and Psychology at the University of Minnesota–Duluth. Following college, he attended United States Air Force flight school and served five years as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force. His military service culminated in the historic refugee airlift out of Saigon on the final day of the Vietnam War. After his military service, Mike was hired by American Airlines, where he spent 35 years as a commercial airline pilot. He flew the DC‑10, Boeing 727, 757, and 767 aircraft. In 1987, while still flying, Mike and his wife, Patti, founded Advantage Realty Inc. Following the events of September 11, 2001, he elected early retirement from American Airlines in 2004 to devote his full professional attention to serving the clients of Advantage Realty.
